FNQ Foster Care Recruitment

The FNQ Foster Care Recruitment Service will support a person or family through the stages of becoming a Foster Carer from the point of enquiry to the point of receiving the final Certificate of Approval.

The Service will receive an Expression of Interest, have a conversation with the person, and maybe members of their household, provide paperwork to commence the Application process, provide training and a full family assessment. The assessment is provided to the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety for final approval.

Throughout the process, the Service will provide information to the prospective Foster Carer, in relation to the Foster Care Support Services in the Region. Depending upon the location of the family and their personal preferences, they will have some input into what agency they may be allocated to for ongoing support in their Foster Care journey.

Recruitment Road Map. The stages are Inquiry, Information Session, Application and Training, Assessment, and Approval.
